PaperStone™ is made from sustainable sources from North America. It is manufactured in three versions. Original PaperStone contains 50% post-consumer recycled content and PaperStone Certified is made from 100% recycled materials. PaperStone made from virgin fiber is also available. All PaperStone products are made from petroleum-free resin that contains natural ingredients like cashew nut shell liquid. All PaperStone products are available in the same panel sizes, basic colors, and have identical mechanical properties.
PaperStone-Certified is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council or FSC, Smartwood and the Rainforest Alliance. It is the only architectural surface on the market today certified by these demanding third parties.
PaperStone Products' Three Series
There are three series of recycled paper-based PaperStone products. The first series is labeled 'Original', which is made from 50% post-consumer waste, recycled paper. Second series is 'Certified', the FSC, Smartwood and Rainforest Alliance-certified product which is made from 100% post-consumer waste paper. Third, Paperstone made from virgin fiber is also available. Depending upon the project, the use of PaperStone may contribute up to five LEED points.
How PaperStone is best used
We recommend PaperStone for a wide variety of interior horizontal applications such as custom countertops, window sills and door thresholds, and vertical applications such as toilet partitions, interior and exterior paneling, exterior cabinet work, and chair rail.
